Fishing
Fish the same waters, catch the same fish, enjoy the same access to wilderness fishing and spoil yourself with modern hotel style accommodations and dining!
We can help you arrange for local maps, boats and motors, dockage for your boat if you want to trailer it and for local boat and motor rentals if you need a boat and motor. Live bait, maps and tackle are available from vendors close by. One advantage to consider when staying with us is that access to wondeful North Shore fishing is as available to you here as if you were staying at an expensive "Fishing Camp".
Our facilities are modern, our dining room offers quality European style menus and your daily expense is equivalent of "Inn" or "Hotel" type rates.
Summer Activities
Summer brings hiking, bird watching, canoeing (along old fur trading rivers), fishing in both in-land lakes and in Lake Huron and if this is not enough we have one of the best Marinas from which to explore the pristine North Shore Of Lake Huron by sail or motor boat. If you haven't seen a sunset from Blind River you have missed one of Nature's most beautiful moments. Our sunsets have a beautiful pink glow in the last few minutes that you will not soon forget. While staying with us we can arrange for you:
Fall Activities
Fall brings the fire of a sunset to our trees. Many visitors say they think our display of colour along the roadside is fantastic and breath-taking. We however invite you to witness the beauty of our forests mirrored on our pristine inland lakes. Once our beautiful wilderness is discovered you very likely will be called to return to it time and time again.
Winter Activities

Winter is the North as we all should experience it. We have cross-country ski trails and snow-shoe opportunities that not only include groomed trails but also wilderness trails that will remind you of the days of the Coureur de Bois. Perhaps you would like to ski across Lake Huron to Manitoulin Island. From Blind River we have a "tree line" for you to follow. Its less than twenty miles/thirty five kilometers.
Ice Fishing
Ice fishing opportunities abound in both the in-land lakes and Lake Huron. In our area the locals decide which fish they want to catch before they leave home. By lunch they are home with the limits in hand or in the frying pan.
Wildlife - White Tail Deer
Our area has a large deer herd, of 2 to 3 thousand animals. One trail passes through the deer 'yard'. Normally, the deer just stand and watch you unless you stop in their midst. They are there now and are waiting for you until spring. They make quite the spectacular show, that is unless you have deer in your back yard which many of my neighbors do have.
Please note: when traveling along 17 Hwy please observe our Deer Crossing Signs. These are not put up by the local tourist association but rather by the Ministry of Transportation at sights where animals have recently been struck.
Sledding - Fishing
From Blind River you can access trails leading to all major destinations: Sault Ste Marie, Wawa, Manitoulin Island, Sudbury and the new connection to Chapleau via Elliot Lake.
Easy access to the North Channel and fishing for bass, pike, walleye and perch.
Spring Activities
Spring in the North is really an extension of Winter. We have some of our best snow machine trail and ice fishing conditions when the people in Toronto and Detroit are thinking of golf and gardening. Most years we have in excess of eight feet of packed snow on our trails. This depth takes considerable time to recede once the snow accumulation has stopped. We expect snow throughout the month of March. Our trails are never busy but you will find our spring trails even less traveled although we continue to groom our trails until we all agree that the season has ended. Call us for snow conditions throughout the winter and spring seasons.
